Food & Wine Combos for Your Next Night In

In the dreary days of February, weekends are typically spent bundled on the couch with a blanket, snacks within reach, and a Netflix movie session in action. It’s the perfect way to avoid the slushy Nebraska weather.

The only thing that would make your night in even better is finding the perfect drink and snack combo to accompany your movies. We’ve taken some of the newest Netflix titles for both February and March and paired them with a Mac’s Creek wine and complimentary snack to add to your viewing experience.

 New in February

When We First Met
Watch it with: Highlands & Salted Popcorn
“When We First Met” stars Nebraska’s very own Adam DeVine as he meets the girl of his dreams, only to be friend zoned after one perfect night together. Following typical Rom-Com fashion, Noah (DeVine) gets another chance to alter the outcome three years later as he travels back in time to the night they first met.

Irreplaceable You
Watch it with: Poncu & Cheesecake
You might need a side of tissues to go along with this one as you watch this romantic drama unfold. “Irreplaceable You” follows the story of a couple as they undergo a major life change: Abbie’s cancer diagnosis. Follow along with the couple as Abbie embarks on a mission to find a new girlfriend for her fiancé.

Meet the Parents
Watch it with: Ringneck Red & Honey BBQ Chicken Strips
If you’re in the mood for a light-hearted comedy, you can’t go wrong with a Ben Stiller flick. Greg (Stiller) plans to propose to his girlfriend, Pam, but things go awry when the couple is invited to his girlfriend’s family’s house for a wedding. Shenanigans unfold as Greg tries to win the respect of Pam’s parents—specifically her father, played by Robert DeNiro.

People You May Know
Watch it with: Edelweiss & Chinese Food
We all know that social media has completely changed the game of life, but what happens when a social media guru helps an introvert turn into a social butterfly? Find out in “People You May Know” as Jed navigates his new public life while trying to woo a high school crush.

Coming in March

Midnight in Paris
Watch it with: Celtic Aire & Cheese Dishes
What do you get when a 21st century writer suddenly finds himself at a party with Cole Porter, Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Pablo Picasso? A comedic love story that bounces between present day and 1920s Paris. “Midnight in Paris” has an all-star cast including Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, and Tom Hiddleston.

Must Love Dogs
Watch it with: Red Hand & Dark Chocolate
Throw Diane Lane and John Cusack into a movie together and you’ve got a Rom-Com for the ages. Lane plays Sarah, a kindergarten teacher who suddenly finds herself thrust into the world of online dating. While most of the men sliding into her emails seem hopeless, one stands out among the rest (enter Cusack). However, nothing is ever easy when it comes to dating in a Rom-Com. Sarah also meets the divorced father of one of her students and finds herself having to pick between the two.
